Glass plate negatives - Flanders, France and Salonika, 1915-c.1917
Scope and Contents
Photographs taken by HATF during his service with the Royal Army Medical Corps in Flanders, France and Salonika. All of the images are reproduced in the photograph album described at MS Add.10082/12. The description for each of the glass plate negatives has been taken directly from the caption used for the corresponding image in the photograph album with additional information added to identify persons and places.
The majority of the images are of places in Belgium and include views of damage to the Cathedral and Cloth Hall in Ypres, scenes from the red-brick asylum at Bailleul which became a casualty clearing station and billets used by HATF and his fellow officers. HATF and some officers are identified.
