Scope and Contents
In October 1966 Sadie reviewed the vocal score of the Victorian opera 'Raymond and Agnes' edited by Nicholas Temperley which had been prepared for a revival at the Cambridge Arts Theatre for 2-7 May 1966. The review led to some correspondence between him and Temperley about the changes that had been made.
Contains cuttings from Music & Letters featuring the original review (Vol. 47 No. 4, pp.373-375) and subsequent correspondence (Vol. 48 No. 2, pp.206-207; Vol. 48 No. 3, pp.410-411; Vol. 49 No. 2, p.197); a copy of the Raymond and Agnes vocal score edited by Temperley with annotations and notes by Sadie inserted into the volume; a copy of the Cambridge Arts Theatre programme for Raymond and Agnes; and a cutting from The Financial Times of a review of the performance.
