Scope and Contents
Letters from Michael Noakes to Hamson written in 1961 and 1979. Noakes was commissioned by Trinity College, Cambridge in 1961 to undertake a drawing of Hamson. All but one of the letters are dated 1961 and are concerned with arrangements for carrying out the commission and Hamson’s efforts to secure further commissions for Noakes. A single letter from 1979 makes reference to Noakes returning to Trinity College following a commission to paint the then Master, Sir Alan Hodgkin.
