Scope and Contents
A copy of a letter from the Hoppo, Board of Revenue, to Rutherford Alcock announcing the resumption of business, written in Chinese, with an English note describing the contents. The note is dated 31 October, but no year is given (Alcock's tenure at Canton was from August 1854 to November 1858).
