Undated notes in Parkes' hand taken from the paper 'Chinese Culture, or Remarks on the Causes of the Peculiarities of the Chinese' by Samuel Brown, which was read before the American Oriental Society on 17 October 1850, and published in the 'Journal of the American Oriental Society', vol. 2, 1851, pp. 169-206.
