Scope and Contents
Correspondence relating to Japan, consisting chiefly of letters to Parkes. The principal authors are William George Aston, Frederick Victor Dickins and John Robertson. There are also press cuttings from 'The Times', [October] 1881, 1 folio, and the 'Japan Daily Mail', 17 August 1883, 2 folios, and the O.H.M.S. envelope which formerly contained the other documents, labelled 'Japan'. The letters are to Parkes unless otherwise stated.

Any person wishing to consult the collection must obtain written permission from Matheson and Co. Ltd, 3 Lombard Street, London, EC3V 9AQ. They should state specifically on the form that they desire access to the Parkes Papers.
