Scope and Contents

Typescript copies of letters from David Landale and James McKie, Shanghai, to W.J. Gresson, Hong Kong. There are also typescript copies of a letter from Horace Hickling, London, to Jardine Matheson, Shanghai, 2 July 1909, followed by comments thereon, and of a letter from W.F. Inglis, Shanghai, to David Landale, 27 August 1909, enclosing a supplementary memorandum regarding the Chinese Engineering & Mining Corporation Ltd. The envelope is labelled 'Letters from Shanghai to Hong Kong - 1909 (parcelled by Mr. Beith)'.
