Scope and Contents

Manuscript and typescript letters and one telegram to William Keswick, London, regarding Sir Robert Jardine's property and other matters. Most of the letters are from Sir Robert's Edinburgh solicitor, James Steuart, but there are also a few letters from Messrs J.C. & A. Steuart and Geo. G.B. Steuart. The subject matter includes the duty paid on Sir Robert's estate, his executry, Jardine's Wharf in Singapore, and articles of association of Jardine, Matheson & Co. The envelope is labelled 'Reference to Duty paid on Sir Robert Jardine's Estate'.
