Scope and Contents

Correspondence between the Shipping Office, Jardine Matheson, Shanghai, and J.H. Keswick, Hong Kong; British Consulate General, Shanghai; Shanghai Harbour Affairs Bureau, Shanghai; and others regarding J.H. Keswick's house boat 'Shuen Foong' and motor sampan 'Big Horror'. There are also related letters and papers, including two versions of the bill of the sale of the 'Shung Fong' from E. Sigaut to J.H. Keswick, 1 June 1946 and 2 July 1946, and papers regarding the sale of the 'Shung Foong' and the 'Big Horror' from Keswick to the China National General Labour Union in 1953, including sales agreements. Some documents are in Chinese. The folder is labelled 'Mr. Keswick's Houseboat'.
