Correspondence between Jardine Matheson, Shanghai, and Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong; Foncière et Immobilière de Chine, Shanghai; Foreign Affairs Bureau, Shanghai; House & Land Property Administration Bureau, Shanghai; Platt, Hansons & Co., Shanghai; Shanghai Land Investment Co. Ltd, Shanghai; Société Immobilière de Shanghai, Lyon; and others, regarding the properties of Société Immobilière de Shanghai. There are also related papers, including accounts current of Société Immobilière de Shanghai with Jardine Matheson, Shanghai; extracts of telephone conversations of Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong; and minutes of meetings of Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd at the Foreign Affairs Bureau regarding Société Immobilière's properties. Some documents are in Chinese or French. Loose inside the folder is an envelope labelled 'Copy of Documents of Surrender to F.A.B.' containing four sets of documents prepared for the Foreign Affairs Bureau, Shanghai, by Jardine Matheson, Shanghai, as Agents for the Shanghai properties of Société Immobilière de Shanghai, with a covering letter of 17 August 1953. The folder is labelled 'Societe Immobiliere de Shanghai' and 'This property has been transferred to the People's Govt.', and is numbered 900-17A.
