Selected private and confidential correspondence between Jardine, Matheson & Co. Ltd, Matheson & Co. Ltd and Henry Waugh & Co. Ltd (and its successors) regarding particular subjects, with some semi-official, personal and other correspondence between the companies and other letters and papers. Most of the letters are copies, but there are also some original letters. Some files are comprised solely of non-correspondence.

Access to the collection is subject to special conditions and is at the discretion of Matheson & Co. Ltd, part of the Jardine Matheson Group. The files were originally part of an accession of three tin trunks received in 1993, some of the contents of which were returned to storage in London.
