Scope and Contents
The ring-binder is labelled '1953/55 Private & Confidential Henry Waugh & Co., Ltd.' and is numbered 41. It is divided into four sections:
1. Borneo: a small set of correspondence (including personal letters) between H.D.M. Barton and J.H. Keswick, Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong, and D.I. Bosanquet, Henry Waugh & Co. Ltd, Penang and Singapore, 16 March 1954-15 November 1955, with an extract from a letter from M. Saunderson, J. Stone & Co., to H. Sidbury, 26 February 1954.
2. S.E. Travis: four pieces of correspondence between Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong, and Henry Waugh & Co. Ltd, Singapore, 21 December 1953-21 June 1954.
3. Directors' Commissions and Emoluments: correspondence and a few telegrams exchanged by Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong, with Matheson & Co. Ltd, London, and Henry Waugh & Co. Ltd, Singapore, 21 December 1953-1 June 1955, with related letters and papers, including a list of Jardine, Matheson & Co. staff seconded to Henry Waugh & Co. Ltd, 15 December 1954.
4. Staff General: correspondence of Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong, with Matheson & Co. Ltd, London, and Henry Waugh & Co. Ltd, Singapore, with related letters and papers, 12 November 1953-21 May 1955.
