The ring-binder is labelled '1966/1967 Semi-official Balfour Guthrie San Francisco New York' and numbered 1. It is divided into two sections:
1. New York: correspondence between Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong, Jardine Matheson, Taipei, and Matheson & Co. Ltd, London, with related letters and papers, including correspondence and telegrams exchanged between Hong Kong, London and Taipei and Balfour, Williamson Inc., New York, 8 February 1966-5 April 1967.
2. Balfour, Guthrie & Co. Ltd, San Francisco: a note recording that Dalgety & New Zealand Loan Ltd have bought Balfour Guthrie, West Coast, U.S.A., and Balfour Guthrie, Canada, dated Hong Kong, 19 December 1966.
