Scope and Contents
The ring-binder is labelled '1950/51 Tea' and '8. Exports', and is divided into two sections:
1. Correspondence between Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong, and Balfour, Guthrie & Co. Ltd, New York; Jardine, Balfour Inc., New York; and Jardine Matheson, Shanghai and Tokyo, regarding Jardine, Balfour Inc., with related letters and papers, 15 February 1950-31 December 1951.
2. Monthly reports of the tea operations of Jardine, Balfour Inc. for the period 15 November 1949-25 May 1951, with covering letters from the company to Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong, 20 April 1950-12 June 1951. There is also a copy of the accounts of Jardine, Balfour Inc. for the year ended 31 March 1951, with a memorandum by F.A. Norton regarding the accounts, 21 June 1951.
