Scope and Contents
The ring-binder is labelled '1950/51 Tea (2)' and '6. Exports', and is divided into four sections:
1. Green Tea to North Africa (Casablanca): correspondence (including telegrams) between Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong, Jardine Matheson, Shanghai, Jardine Matheson, Taipei, and Matheson & Co. Ltd, London, with related letters and papers, 20 February 1950-13 December 1951.
2. Yung Kuang Tea Co. (A.S. Kiong): correspondence between Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong and Taipei, with related papers, including summaries and extracts of telephone conversations between Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong and Taipei, 2 November 1950-9 April 1951.
3. Shin Shing & Co. Contract: correspondence (including telegrams) between Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong and Taipei, with summaries and extracts of telephone conversations between Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong and Taipei, 13 December 1950-28 February 1951.
4. Reports: correspondence between Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong and Taipei, 2 October 1950-12 November 1951, with related papers, including the Tea Department report for the 1950 tea season and reports on visits to North Africa, Taipei and Taiwan; the tea market; and 'Neutral' Formosa black tea, Robert Anderson & Co. and the Ying Kong Co.
