Scope and Contents
The ring-binder is labelled '1949/57 Hong Kong Airways' and '5. Airways - 1949/57', and is divided into three sections: 1. General - Traffic Rights and Routes: correspondence (including telegrams) between Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong and Taipei, with related letters and papers, 11 November 1949-15 November 1957. The papers include a 'Report on Taipei - Tainan - Koosh Chung' by D.F. Classey, Hong Kong, 20 April 1955. 2. Official Correspondence: correspondence between Hong Kong Airways Ltd, Hong Kong, and the Department of Civil Aviation, Hong Kong, and Northwest Airlines Inc., Tokyo, with some related letters, 27 April 1954-14 October 1957. 3. Use of Tainan Airport: correspondence between Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong and Taipei, with related papers, 20 May-19 July 1955. Some documents are in Chinese.
