Agreement of the Chinese Government and Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corporation, 9 June 1877
Scope and Contents
A printed copy of an agreement between Hoo, Expectant Taotai of the Province of Kiangse and Fantai by Brevet, acting as agent of the Imperial Government of China, and Ewen Cameron, Manager of the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation of Shanghai for a loan of five million of Taels of Haiqwan Sycee, dated Shanghai, 9 June 1877. Attached to the agreement is a printed letter from Matheson & Co., London, 11 June 1875, regarding a loan concluded between Jardine, Matheson & Co. and the Imperial Chinese Government.
