Scope and Contents
Thomas Tanner (1674-1735), Bishop of St. Asaph, antiquary. 1 vol., Collections for the County of Suffolk copied from a book of manuscript notes by Bishop Tanner, Sir Thomas Gage's bookplate, and note by Gage: 'The manuscript from which this copy was made was obligingly lent to me by Mr. Craven Ord. It was neatly written, but so full of errors that some of the notes can not be understood. As the present copy was made word for word by a friend not acquainted with Latin, the errors could not be corrected. It will however be found to contain many useful articles of reference. 1815'. Alphabetical notes by place name. At end, printed Queries proposed to the nobility, gentlemen, clergy, and others, of the County of Suffolk, with a view of obtaining from their answers  .. A more perfect account of the antiquities and natural history of that county, than has hitherto appeared, w.m. 1807
