Scope and Contents
RG visited, or participated in other private schemes to benefit the unemployed: the 'Grith Fyrd' camps run by the order of Woodcraft Chivalry, the 'Brynmawr Experiment' of the Quaker Peter Scott, and the Cleveland work camps for miners. The Springhead work camps were for unemployed men and students from the UK and from Germany and Scandanavia, and had a recreational and social aim, as well as providing labour for Gore Farm and Springhead estate.
