Scope and Contents
Laboratory notebook containing records for poultry breeding lines W 433-624 (birds which hatched between February and June 1901).
The notebook begins with lists of breeding lines and progeny [pp. 1r-3r] followed by full page entries for individual birds. Entries include notes on colour, comb and other physical characteristics, state of health, and cause of death, etc. Also included are drawings of chicken heads [pp. 28v, 33v, 48v and 85v], a feather [page 81v], and feet with extra digits [pp 142v and 178v]. W 558 is labelled 'very important bird' [page 129v].
