Scope and Contents
Laboratory notebook containing records for poultry breeding lines W 281-427 (birds which hatched between May and September 1900).
Entries for each bird include notes on colour, comb and other physical characteristics, state of health, and cause of death, etc. The entries for birds W 321 [pp. 41v-42r] and W 325 [page 45v] include drawings of foot deformities; that for bird W 335, marked ‘v. peculiar’, includes a full body sketch [page 55v]. Birds W 406 and W 409 are marked ‘kd [killed] by dog’ [pp. 128 and 131].
