Letters from Holbrook to correspondents not represented in MS Add.9987/7/1; carbon copies, photocopies, and computer print-outs. Recipients include pupils of Clifton [College?], the editor of 'The Magazine of the Cambridge Society', 'Mr Astor', 'Mr Bailey', 'Mr Field', John Marais, Derwent May, Peter Redgrove, Herbert Richardson, 'Mr Robson', 'Mrs Shields', Michael Smedley, John Sutherland and 'Mr Todd'. With a list of variant spellings of 'Ducklake'; a photocopy of a review of Holbrook's novel 'Even If They Fail' by Carl Baron, from 'The Magazine of the Cambridge Society', and a list of intended recipients of copies of the article and Holbrook's letter of reply; and a bibliography of writings on Jane Austen.

The collection contains personal correspondence. The provisions of the Data Protection Act (1998) apply to access. Users of the collection are required to complete a Researcher Undertaking Concerning Access under the Data Protection Act 2018 and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to Archives Which Would Otherwise Be Closed. Two files are restricted on grounds of confidentiality, and a number of files are not available for research on account of the poor physical condition of the documents they contain.
