Scope and Contents
This series contains nine bundles of Sassoon's incoming correspondence; approximately 261 items. Personal and business correspondence is intermingled, and the letters are grouped according to subject matter (awards of honorary degrees; 'The Heart's Journey'; Sassoon's engagement; work on a film about T.E. Lawrence; 'The Old Century'; his CBE; and his religious conversion), or correspondent (Katherine Asquith letters). There is also a series of miscellaneous letters. The letters in each series are arranged chronologically, with the earliest first.
