Scope and Contents

Notebook used by Sassoon to record his incoming and outgoing finances. It appears to have been used sporadically and includes lists of dividends, expenditure (headings include 'Expenditure: Self. 1922' and 'Keep of horses'), and income (headings include 'Money for Poetry', and 'Sales of Books'). Sassoon also lists money given to friends, with columns headed 'G.A.' [Gabriel Atkin] (folio /4v) and 'G's Allowance' (folio /10v), and a note on a payment made to Robert Graves to enable him to move to Egypt (folio /12r). The notebook also includes: - acquaintances' contact details: /inside front and back cover, /1, /21. - a list of poems printed, with date and place of publication, 1919-1925: /19v-20r. NB. After folio /113 entries continue from the opposite end of the notebook. The foliation is the archivist's.
