Notes on Baxandall paper, 1960
Scope and Contents
Pencilled notes by Gertrude Bing on a piece written by Michael Baxandall on Renaissance decorum. The notes have been written on the back of a galley-proof of the British Museum Library supplementary catalogue for 1949. Baxandall makes reference to these notes in 'Episodes: A Memorybook' published posthumously in 2010, stating that he has lost the piece to which the notes refer and describing the notes as having something of Bing's voice and eye "for locating the evasive, trick or self-deceiving."
