Scope and Contents
Correspondence with customers, 1945-1948. Correspondents include: Godfrey Carter, John Carter, E. J. Cooper, Phillippa Heywood, Mary Isabel Know, Margaret Leask, S. Lydall, Yvonne McHarg, Diana Murray, Betty C. Thomson. Arranged alphabetically. Rubbings taken from wood, mostly breadboards with inscriptions around the circumference, 1938-1960 and undated. The inscriptions also include a breadboard for John Dreyfus and an alphabet for Philip Hofer. Photographs of inscriptions; layout of an advertising circular; tear-sheet from Harper's Bazaar, 1948, mentioning Carter's breadboards.
