Scope and Contents

Meynell was a member of the Publicity Committee of the Board of Trade at the time when clothes rationing was introduced in June 1941. He was appointed Adviser on Consumer Needs in October 1941 and served until December 1945. Meynell wrote occasional and usually undated memoranda to himself (some are captioned 'Memoirs') about the Board of Trade and his work. These are interfiled approximately.
