Correspondence relating to the design of the royal arms on government publications, 1947-1956
Scope and Contents
Most of the correspondence concerns designs by Reynolds Stone made in 1954-5. Meynell's chief correspondents are Stone and John Simpson. With the letters are committee minutes and specimens of past and proposed designs. Also with the papers of 1954-6 are earlier letters and a memorandum by Harry Carter (1947), and a colour transparency of the arms (of uncertain connection to the rest of this item).
