The Percy Smith R.S.A. Memorial Lecture given 23 Apr. 1952; published in the Journal of the Royal Society of Arts July 1952 and separately by the Bristol School of Printing 1953; revised as a lecture at the Bournemouth College of Art in Jan. 1954 and again for the St. Bride Library in Oct. 1955.
