Photographs of sculpture, inscriptions and other lettering by Gill, 1909-1961
Scope and Contents
ca. 60 pieces. They include photographs of Gill's portraits of Canon John Gray, Count Harry Kessler, Judith Tegetmeier, and Michael Hague, an alphabet cut in stone in 1932, a memorial plaque to Thomas Barnes, and Gill's façade for Douglas Cleverdon's bookshop. Also included are photographs of an apprenticeship document written out by Edward Johnston. Some photographs are keyed on the versos to the notebook in item 42 in this series, and marked for cropping and reproduction.
