Letters and related items, mostly addressed to Szirtes but including some addressed to Clarissa Upchurch, or jointly to Szirtes and Upchurch, or jointly to Szirtes, Upchurch and one or both of their children, and with copies of a few letters written by Szirtes. The correspondents and subject matter are wide-ranging, and the contents include many letters from literary authors, both British and Hungarian. Much of the correspondence is with publishers, editors, and officers of literary associations or societies. Poetry and other literary and critical texts by Szirtes and his correspondents occur within some of the files.
