Press cuttings, 1931-1954
Scope and Contents
Mostly provided by Durrant's, a London cuttings agency, the main exceptions being those relating to the East Bristol election of 1935 (180-220) and to German affairs (530-540). They chart AGC's political and public activities during the nineteen-thirties, frequently filling gaps in or providing background to the coverage in his correspondence and papers. The paucity of cuttings for 1932, 1933 and 1934 can probably be explained primarily by AGC being neither a sitting nor a prospective MP during those years.
