Letter from Lord Randolph Churchill, 1878 (Circa, undated)

 File
Reference Code: GBR/0012/MS Add.9271/4/104

Scope and Contents

Report of Bentinck's views: Bentinck thinks Marlborough was deliberately snubbed on University question; Beaconsfield's conduct was similar to that in Connaught matter; if Marlborough did not resign, he was likely to be dismissed in autumn; no successor would be appointed until after Duke of Connaught's wedding; if Marlborough resigned, his position in Ireland and England would be perfectly intelligible
