Scope and Contents

Typescript draft with numerous MS corrections and printers' directions. Apparently accepted for publication by George Allen & Unwin, but never printed. According to the list of contents, the last four sections of the final chapter are either incomplete or missing. Occasionally, items of correspondence are used as scrap paper for the draft: (p. 909c): Sutton-on-Derwent, M. H. Pimm to Money, seeking an extract for the 1940 Calendar of Authors' Birthdays, ypescript, signed, 31 July 1939; (p. 909d): Money to Major [George Clement] Tryon [postmaster general], seeking vehicles for postmen.
