A section probably arranged by issue of journal originally, but now falling into two categories: (a) Files for individual articles, containing letters from the author offering the article, letters accepting the article, sometimes with reports of specialist readers recommending acceptance, suggestions for improvement from reader or editors, and correspondence arising from copy editing and proof reading of articles. The articles are not usually included. The files are arranged roughly chronologically. (b) Correspondence with other editors, copy editors and the printer about the technicalities of printing the article, including e.g. lists of contents of issues of journal, orders for offprints. The papers were loosely interspersed among the article files, and are now put into four files in rough chronological order.
