Letter from Sir William Ridgeway (Queen's College, Cork) to John Willis Clark, 8 Nov. 1892
Scope and Contents
Admiration for his 'Cambridge'; 'At a time when Archaeology at Cambridge was nothing more than mere rag and bone collecting you alone were founding a strict scientific method, studying the monuments side by side with the ancient documents, thus removing Architectural Archaeology from the province of mere guessing Dilettantism into that of solid History.'; everyone felt it was sad that Clark was passed over at the last vacancy for a University office
