Churchwardens of Parish of Manchester consulted him about provisions of Manchester Parish Division Bill, to be introduced into Parliament; he had interviews with Lord John Russell and Sir George Grey, communicated his views; he cannot accede to some propositions in Bill; no definite plan agreed; he would be pleased to meet Chapter on the issue, hear suggestions on increasing 'effectiveness of the Cathedral and Parish Church'
