Scope and Contents
Contains a transcription of a letter from Christiaan Huygens to Henry Oldenburg dated 14 January 1672/3, from Paris. The original is published in Huygens's 'Oeuvres Completes' (The Hague, 1888-1950), vol. VII, no.1919, p.242. An English translation by Oldenburg appeared in Philosophical Transactions (1665-1678), Vol. 8. (1673), pp. 6086-6087, as 'An Extract of a Letter Lately Written by an Ingenious Person from Paris, Containing Some Considerations upon Mr. Newtons Doctrine of Colors, as Also upon the Effects of the Different Refractions of the Rays in Telescopical Glasses.'
