Scope and Contents

Exegetical notes on the Old Testament Books of Hosea, Proverbs, and Ecclesiastes, taken or acquired while studying at Marburg under A. J. Arnoldi. Some notes in hands of Arnoldi, a French correspondent, and G. W. Lorsbach, professor of oriental languages and theology at Herborn. Includes: notes on passages in Hosea, with some leaves in Arnoldi's hand, copy of the article of Sur from the Qamus in Lorsbach's hand,and letter from Lorsbach to Arnoldi, 30 Oct. 1795 (fo. 23); German translation of Proverbs i-xvii.13; exegetical notes on Proverbs, with many leaves in Arnoldi's hand, including German translation of Prov. x-xxxi; notes on Proverbs printed with alterations in Arnoldi, Anmerkungen über einzelne Stellen der Sprüche Salomons, Leipzig, 1781, some pages by Arnoldi, others by a French correspondent; exegetical notes on Ecclesiastes, some leaves and marginalia in Arnoldi's hand.
