- 1r. Richard Gunton of Sutton, yeoman, answered Roger Lawe and Anne, his wife, in an action of trespass on the case that on 16 Apr. 1623 he slandered them by publicly saying, ‘he [Roger] did steal a bottle out of my boat at Wimblington Hook and Anne stole two of Westland’s [Thomas Westland of Sutton] sheep and made mutton pies of them’. Gunton counters that neither Roger nor Anne are of good character for Roger stole a leather bottle belonging to Walter Cranwell at Sutton on 10 Sept. 1623 and on the same day Anne took and led away a sheep belonging to Henry [Moumford] at Sutton and made several pies from the sheep. - 1v. Humphrey Coxey of Ely, gentleman, answered Stephen Jellet, gentleman and attorney of this court, in an action of trespass on the case relating to a contract made between the two at Ely, 20 Feb. 1624. Coxey fined; to pay costs and damages.
- 1v. Robert Lightfoote of Thetford, yeoman, is summoned to answer Susan Brigges, widow, in an action of debt of 12 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 9 Apr. 1620 at Ely. The entry is incomplete.
- 2r. Giles Chapman of Witcham, gentleman, is summoned to answer Stephen Jellet, gentleman and attorney of this court, in an action of debt of four pounds, 15 shillings and eight pence relating to an action of trespass against John Tymes, 16 Apr. 1623 at Ely, and a bond of obligation of 3 June 1623. - 2v. John Reishton, gentleman, of Soham is summoned to answer George Forster, gentleman, in an action of debt of four pounds relating to a bill of obligation of 3 Oct. 1623 at Ely. The entry is incomplete.

- 3r. Memorandum that Thomas Pamplyn brought a bill against Miles Sandys esquire in an action of trespass on the case relating to a debt owed by William Crane to Pamplyn in the sum of seven pounds and nine shillings, 4 Nov. 1622 at Ely. To proceed to the next session.

Richard Fowler of Ely, mercer, is summoned to answer Nicholas [Felton], Bishop of Ely, in an action of debt of 40 shillings relating to a debt owed by Fowler to Christopher March of Ely, gentleman, 14 June 1623 at Ely [March had committed a felony; the Bishop of Ely appears to be acting in capacity as an administrator for the estate of a felon]. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.

Joan Bennett, widow and executor of the last will of Thomas Bennett, lately her husband, answered Richard Fowler in an action of trespass on the case relating to the sale and supply of various quantities of cloth including rug, woollen cloth, pickling and sacking, 20 Mar. 1622 at Ely. The entry is incomplete.
- 4r. Thomas Smythe of Wisbech, waterman, is summoned to answer Henry Knowles and Elizabeth, his wife and executor of the will of Thomas Headley, in an action of debt of six pounds relating to a bond of obligation, 25 Oct. 1614 at Wisbech. To proceed to jury trial.

- 4v. Memorandum that Helen Vaugham, widow, brought a bill against Roger Thompson, gentleman and attorney of this court, in an action of debt relating to a sum of four pounds owed by Henry Falconer to Vaugham, 3 Nov. 1622 at Ely. Thompson fined; to pay costs and damages.

- 5r. William Goodday of Haddenham, yeoman, and John Goodday of Haddenham, yeoman, answered John Hall in an action of trespass and assault that on 8 Mar. 1624 they assaulted Hall at Haddenham. To proceed to jury trial.
- 5r. Stephen Bland of Wisbech, labourer, answered Thomas White in an action of trespass on the case relating to the possession of ten coombs of barley, 10 Feb. 1624 at Wisbech. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 5v. Robert Wigglesworth of Leverington, yeoman, is summoned to answer Sarah Brian, widow, in an action of debt of 46 shillings and eight pence relating to the lease of six and a half acres of pasture with appurtenances in Leverington, 20 Mar. 1623. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 5v. John Southwell of Upwell, Norfolk, husbandman, is summoned to answer William Anstropp in an action of debt of 50 shillings relating to a bill of obligation of 14 Mar. 1620 at Wisbech. The entry is incomplete.
- 5v. Robert Wright, executor of the will of Robert Wilsey, answered John Robinson in an action of trespass on the case relating to a suit in the Chancery Court, [10 May 1621]. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 6r. Robert Dorceter of Outwell, Norfolk, yeoman, is summoned to answer Robert Hubberd, gentleman, in an action of debt of 30 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 16 Oct. 1622 at Outwell. The bond of obligation is recited. To proceed to the next session.
- 6r. Francis Witherick of Stuntney, husbandman, answered Michael Ireland in an action of trespass and assault that on 30 Mar. 1624 he entered Ireland’s close called Cawthornes Loade in a marsh called Cow Fen at Stuntney, assaulted Ireland and took and carried away a boat worth five pounds, three sprits worth six shillings, two axes worth ten shillings, a cutting knife worth two shillings and 18 rods worth 30 shillings. There is discussion of the place and ownership of the close, particularly in relation to the manor of Stuntney. To proceed to the next session.
