Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 1r. Gilbert Cooket of Emneth, Norfolk, husbandman, is summoned to answer Balam Colvyle, gentleman, in an action of debt of ten pounds relating to the lease of a messuage and approximately seven acres of land with appurtenances in Emneth in a field called Hallowcrofts, 20 Mar. 1620. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 1r. John Streete of King’s Lynn, Norfolk, labourer, answered Henry Streete in an action of trespass that on 9 Mar. 1623 he broke and entered the house and close of Henry in Outwell. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 1v. John Hawes of Walton, Norfolk, husbandman, answered Thomas Brett in an action of trespass on the case relating to the possession of a [gelding] worth 60 shillings, 13 Feb. 1623 at Wisbech. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 1v. John Johnson of Wisbech, barber, administrator of the goods and chattels of William Baxter of Wisbech, yeoman, is summoned to answer William Mangall in an action of debt of 16 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 1 Aug. 1616 at Wisbech. To proceed to the next session.

Thomas Fisher of Crowland, Lincolnshire, gentleman, and executor of the last will and testament of Richard Fisher of Sutton St Edmunds in Holland district, Lincolnshire, yeoman, is summoned to answer Jonas Deanes in an action of debt of ten pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 25 Nov. 1617 at Wisbech. John Graunt of Witcham, labourer, and Mary, his wife, answered Thomas Cheesewright in an action of trespass on the case that on 12 Jan. 1623 Mary slandered Cheesewright by publicly saying, ‘your husband [Thomas Cheesewright] is a thief and did steal straw out of my Cran Wells yard.’ Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 2r. Thomas Swayne of Wisbech, butcher, is summoned to answer Robert Wigglesworth in an action of debt of 60 pounds relating to the sale of eight acres of pasture situated in a field called West Meadowe in Leverington, 2 Mar. 1619. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.

- 2v. Robert Arkenstall of Haddenham, husbandman, answered Robert Payne in an action of trespass that on 23 Oct. 1622 his livestock trampled and overgrazed the grass growing in Payne’s close at Haddenham causing damage. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.

Richard Langford of Stretham, yeoman, answered Thomas Ashton in an action of trespass that on 1 Apr. 1622 his livestock trampled and overgrazed the grass growing in Ashton’s close situated in a field called Doggers Field in Stretham and damaged the grass with ploughs. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 3r. William Gunton senior of Sutton, yeoman, answered William Thomas in an action of trespass that on 10 Aug. 1622 he entered Thomas’ close at Sutton and took and carried away grass to the value of four pounds. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 3r. Richard Gunton of Bluntisham, yeoman, is summoned to answer Thomas Heaton in an action of debt of 58 shillings, 23 Nov. 1612 at Bluntisham. To proceed to the next session.
- 3v. Robert Freeman of Witcham, husbandman, and Martha, his wife, and John Freeman of Witcham, husbandman, answered George Peacocke in an action of trespass and assault that on 23 Mar. 1623 they assaulted George at Witcham and [injured his limb]. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 3v. Susan Brigges of Thetford, widow, answered Thomas Steward, knight, in an action of trespass that on 31 Mar. 1623 her dogs chased or hunted sheep belonging to Steward, injuring or biting 60 of them. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.

Henry Bracher of Ely, labourer, answered Simon Stywarde, knight, in an action of trespass that on 20 Sept. 1622 he entered Stywarde’s close called Swarsdelphe at Stuntney and dug 30 000 turfs out of the ground with hoes and sold these without Stywarde’s knowledge. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 4r. George Clarke of Fleet, Lincolnshire, husbandman, answered Alice Newman, widow, in an action of trespass on the case relating to various sums of money borrowed by Clarke between June 1620 and Mar. 1621 and a breach of promise relating to the wintering and keeping with hay of a horse and a number of other breaches of promise. Clarke is bound to answer Newman in this action. William Chappell of Wisbech, fishmonger, and Robert Woodrow of Wisbech, beer brewer, act as surety.

Robert Payne of Haddenham, gentleman, answered Robert Arkinstall in an action of trespass that his livestock trampled and overgrazed the grass growing in Arkinstall’s close between 20 Dec. 1620 and 20 Apr. 1621, and that in Aug. 1621 he took and carried away two cart-loads of hay from the same close. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.

John Cooke of Coveney, husbandman, answered Evan Griffith in an action of trespass on the case relating to a debt of 40 shillings owed to Griffith in relation to suit brought by Griffith against Thomas Bennett and John Harrison who entered into a bond of obligation with Griffith for the sum of six pounds, 1 Dec. 1621 at Ely. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 5v. Thomas Johnson of Gedney, Lincolnshire, yeoman, answered George Blissett and Margaret, his wife, in an action of trespass on the case relating to an agreement to educate and bring up a male child, 20 Oct. 1615 at Ely. Johnson fined; to pay costs and damages.

William Smyth of Ely, carter, answered Matthew Whitchurche in an action of trespass on the case relating to a watercart with all its furniture and an undertaking relating to the wardship or maintenance of Bridget Whitchurche, a daughter of Matthew Whitchurche, 10 Apr. 1622 at Ely. Anthony Lettyn of Walsoken, Norfolk, tailor, answered Robert Pulver in an action of trespass on the case relating to the possession of several animals by Agnes, presently the wife of Anthony Lettyn, including three milk cows, three heifers, a horse and colt for grazing and pasturing in Pulver’s pasture at Walsoken, 1 May 1619. Lettyn acquitted.
- 6v. John Denton of Haddenham, yeoman, answered Robert Arkinstall in an action of trespass and assault that on 3 Mar. 1623 he assaulted Arkinstall at Ely. The entry is incomplete.
- 7r. Robert Payne of Haddenham, gentleman, answered Robert Arkinstall in an action of trespass that his livestock trampled and overgrazed the grass growing in Arkinstall’s close in Haddenham between 20 Feb. and 8 Mar. 1623. The entry is incomplete.

Thomas Johnson of Gedney, Lincolnshire, yeoman, answered George Blisset and Margaret, his wife, in an action of trespass on the case relating to an agreement to educate and bring up a male child, 20 Oct. 1615 at Ely. Johnson is bound to answer George and Margaret in this action. Robert Punsonbye of Wisbech, yeoman, acts as surety.

Alice Newman of Fleet, Lincolnshire, widow, answered George Clarke in an action of trespass on the case relating to the sum of 100 shillings borrowed on 10 Sept. 1620 at Wisbech and the promise to sell and supply all the pasturage growing in and on eight acres of meadow in Fleet, 20 Aug. 1621. Thomas Miller of Witchford, yeoman, and Paul Hall of Witchford, labourer, answered Robert Yonge in an action of trespass that on 7 Apr. 1623 they took a piece of willow tree worth 12 pence and ejected Yonge.
