Preamble: letters patent; writ of assizes; gaol delivery commission.
- 1r. Ralph Harrison of Wisbech, pewterer, is indicted that on 23 June 1612 he feloniously stole, took and carried away a dark green cloth pair of breeches worth two shillings and a dark green jerkin worth 12 pence from an unknown person at Wisbech. Guilty; allowed benefit of clergy.
- 1r. William Elgood of King’s Lynn, Norfolk, husbandman, is indicted that on 27 July 1612 he feloniously stole, took and carried away two smocks to the value of two shillings and six pence from [P?] Barker, spinster, at Wisbech. Guilty; allowed benefit of clergy. [This entry is faded and difficult to decipher].
- 1v. Prudence Price, wife of William Price of Outwell, Norfolk, yeoman, is indicted that on 23 Dec. 1611 she feloniously stole, took and carried away three ribs of beef worth six pence from John Quinnyt of Wisbech. Guilty; to be whipped.
- 2v. Robert Trowell of Soham, butcher, is bound to answer Francis Witherick in an action of trespass. Robert Harryson of Ely, gentleman, and John Watts of Ely, yeoman, act as surety.
- 2v. John Dalton, alias Walton, of Ely, yeoman, is bound to answer William Westfeild in an action of debt. Thomas Flower of Ely, gentleman, and John Watts of Ely, yeoman, act as surety.
- 3r. William Clarke of Littleport, husbandman, answered William Gyles in an action of trespass and ejection that on 27 July 1612 he ejected Gyles from a share in 30 acres of pasture with appurtenances in Littleport which Thomas Day had leased to Gyles for a term which had not yet expired. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 3r. Thomas Harwood of Whittlesey, yeoman, answered Isabella Harwood in an action of trespass that on 18 Aug. 1612 he entered Isabella’s close at a place called Revehill in Whittlesey and took and carried away four cart-loads of barley to the value of five pounds. Isabella fined for bringing a false claim; Thomas acquitted.
- 3r. John Richardson of Whittlesey, husbandman, and Thomas Harwood of Whittlesey, yeoman, answered Edward Dawson in an action that on 21 May 1611 at Whittlesey they took, imprisoned and maltreated Dawson. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 3v. Thomas Lawrence of Ely, waterman, answered Thomas Tuck in an action of trespass that on 3 Mar. 1612 he broke into a barge belonging to Tuck at Ely and took and carried away an iron bar worth ten shillings and on 30 June 1612 he took and carried away a cheekboard to the value of five shillings from the same barge. On 10 June 1612, he broke and entered the house of Tuck at Ely and took and carried away a powdering tub to the value of five shillings. Arrested; to pay costs and damages.
- 3v. John Randall of Ely, yeoman, answered Francis Sevedge in an action of trespass that on 11 Aug. 1612 he took a gelding worth six pounds, 30 shillings and four pence and without the consent of Sevedge he rode it ten miles. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 3v. John Okey of Haddenham, yeoman, answered John Purver in an action of trespass that on 20 Aug. 1612 his livestock trampled, spoiled and overgrazed the crops growing in Purver’s close in Haddenham in a field called Hill Row Field. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 4r. Robert Stennell of Ely, butcher, answered William Fyson in action of trespass on the case relating to the possession of a black-garled [speckled] cow worth five pounds. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 4r. Edmund Morton of Ely, labourer, is summoned to answer Edward Hart in an action of debt of 40 shillings relating to the sale of various quantities of cloth including broadcloth, kersey, baize, cotton, hemp cloth and two stone of cheese, 15 May 1608 at Ely. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 4r. Thomas Tuck of Ely, yeoman, and John Lay of Ely, yeoman, answered William Marche, gentleman, in an action of trespass that on 20 Sept. 1609 they took and led away ten ewes worth five pounds belonging to Marche at Ely. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 4v. William Wates, alias Watts, of Ely, potter, is summoned to answer John Tomlyn in an action of debt of eight pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 5 June 1612. To proceed to the next session.
- 4v. Francis Witherick of Stuntney, yeoman, answered Robert Trowell in an action of trespass on the case relating to the sale of two steers worth seven pounds, 4 Feb. 1612 at Stuntney. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 5r. John Blowe of Wisbech, husbandman, is summoned to answer Henry Peck in an action of debt of four pounds, 30 shillings and four pence relating to 12 acres of pasture in a field called Sayres Field and eight acres of pasture in a field called [?Pymen Dole] in Wisbech, leased to Blowe and Edward Wistowe, 29 Sept. 1609. To proceed to jury trial.
- 5r. Edward Thompson and Marian, his wife, lately Marian Younge, widow, answered John Gregg, executor of the will of William Gregg, in an action of trespass on the case relating to a sum of six pounds, 30 shillings and four pence owed by Marian to William Gregg, 29 Jan. 1610 at Wisbech. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 5v. Richard Dennyson of Wisbech, haberdasher, is summoned to answer John Ingham, gentleman, in an action of debt of 63 shillings which Dennyson borrowed, 19 Feb. 1612 at Wisbech. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 5v. Robert Bland of Haddenham, yeoman, is summoned to answer William Bland in an action of debt of ten pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 27 Mar. 1612 at Haddenham. The entry is incomplete.
- 6r. John Gregg of [place not stated], Lincolnshire, executor of the will of William Gregg, deceased, is summoned to answer Edward Thompson and Marian, his wife, in an action of debt of 40 shillings relating to the sale of a milk cow, 1 Feb. 1611 at Wisbech. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 6r. John Purver of Haddenham, yeoman, and William Chapman, alias Light, answered John Okey in an action of trespass that on 1 Aug. 1612 their livestock trampled and overgrazed the grass growing in Okey’s close called Northye Meadow at Haddenham. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 6r. Thomas Lewys of Emneth, Norfolk, husbandman, is summoned to answer Balam Colvyle, gentleman, in an action of debt of five pounds relating a hen of the kind called madcap [?redcap], 1 Sept. 1611 at Wisbech. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 6v. John Ingham of Wisbech, gentleman, answered Richard Dennyson in an action of trespass on the case borrowed several separate sums of money totalling 26 shillings, 28 May 1612 at Wisbech. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 6v. William Spaulding of Leverington, yeoman, is summoned to answer Richard Wiglesworth in an action of debt of 12 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 9 May 1612 at Wisbech. Spaulding fined; to pay costs and damages.
- 7r. Geoffrey Johnson, alias Heyhey, of Leverington, [occupation not stated], answered Elizabeth Amye in an action of trespass on the case that on 7 June 1612 he slandered Amye by publicly saying ‘you are a thief and have stolen sheep and so I will prove.’ Damages to be assessed.
- 7r. Walter Ferris of Eldernell, gentleman, answered Thomas Hodgson in an action of trespass on the case relating to a dispute over the ferrying of Thomas and his horse from Eldernell in the parish of Whittlesey across the river to Guyhirn in the parish of Wisbech, 21 May 1612. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 7v. Nicholas Knowles brought information on behalf of the Crown relating to Peter Raventree of Ely, labourer, concerning his unlawful occupation as a baker of bread between 29 Oct. 1611 and 29 Aug. 1612 contrary to statute. To proceed to jury trial.
- 7v. Benjamin Gibson of Ely, shoemaker, is summoned to answer Giles Hawkes in an action of debt of three pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 7 Jan. 1612. The bond of obligation is recited. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 8r. Nicholas Knowles brought information on behalf of the Crown relating to Thomas Bracey of Ely, labourer, concerning his unlawful occupation as a baker of bread between 29 Oct. 1611 and 29 Aug. 1612 contrary to statute. To proceed to jury trial.
- 8r. Francis Withericke of Stuntney, yeoman, answered Robert Trowell in an action of trespass that on 31 Jan. 1612 he took and enclosed three steers worth 40 pounds [intended for sale] at the butcher’s market at Newmarket, Suffolk. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 8r. Thomas Lawrence of Ely, waterman, answered William Tucke junior in an action of assault that on 10 May 1612 he assaulted Tucke at Ely. Lawrence arrested; to pay costs and damages.
- 8v. John Randall of Ely, yeoman, is summoned to answer John Tomlyn in an action of debt of eight pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 5 June 1612. The entry is incomplete.
- 8v. John Hill of Ely, earthen potter, is summoned to answer George Sutton in an action of debt of three pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 24 May 1612 at Ely. The entry is incomplete.
- 9r. John Thorowgood of Witcham, yeoman, administrator of the goods and chattels of John Thorowgood deceased is summoned to answer William Marche, gentleman, in an action of debt of 80 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 1 Aug. 1609 at Ely. To proceed to the next session.

- 9v. Henry Spence of Ely, labourer, answered William Fletcher in an action of assault that on 9 May 1612 he assaulted Fletcher at Ely. Spence counters that on the date stated Fletcher assaulted him. To proceed to jury trial.
- 10r. Robert Bland of Haddenham, yeoman, is summoned to answer John Pearson in an action of debt of 44 shillings relating to a bill of 1 June 1612 at Haddenham. Bland fined; to pay costs and damages.
