Preamble: writ of assizes; gaol delivery commission.
- 1r. Henry Blande of Ely, labourer, is indicted that on 30 Oct. 1602 he feloniously stole and drove a brown cow worth 20 shillings and a brown heifer worth 20 shillings from Thomas Harryson at Ely. Not guilty.
- 1r. Thomas Plumber of Wisbech, husbandman, is indicted that on 31 Oct. 1602 he feloniously stole and drove a ram worth eight shillings from Richard Scotterell at Wisbech. Not guilty.
- 1r. Thomas Atkynson of Wisbech, beer brewer, is indicted that on 2 July 1603 he feloniously escaped from the custody of Nicholas Bacon, constable of Wisbech Castle. Guilty; allowed benefit of clergy.
- 1v. William Paynter of Ely, plumber, is indicted that on 6 Feb. 1603 he feloniously stole, took and carried away 20 pounds of lead to the value of 20 pence from a storehouse at Ely Cathedral. Confessed; to be hanged.
- 1v. Richard Smyth, alias Trevis, of Wisbech, labourer, is indicted that he feloniously stole and drove a brown cow worth 40 shillings from a certain Whittingham at Wisbech, 28 June 1603, a black cow worth 40 shillings from John Taylor at Wisbech, 6 June 1603, a white cow and a calf worth 40 shillings from Susan Brodbery, widow, at Upwell, 30 June 1603, three white cows and three calves worth 40 shillings from George Wallys, gentleman, at Upwell, 30 June 1603, a red cow and a calf worth 40 shillings from John Fysher at Upwell, 30 June 1603, and a black cow worth 40 shillings from Christopher Dickenson at Wisbech, 28 June 1603. Confessed to be hanged.
- 1v. Margaret Webb, wife of Peter Webb of Wilburton, carpenter, is indicted that on 21 Sept. 1602 she used, exercised and practiced enchantments, witchcraft and magical arts on Agnes Gasam of Wilburton, widow, causing her to die. She is further indicted that on 4 Sept. 1597 she used, exercised and practiced enchantments, witchcraft and magical arts on Elizabeth Jenkynson, wife of Barnaby Jenkynson of Wilburton, causing her to languish and die, and on 4 Feb. 1595 she used, exercised and practiced enchantments, witchcraft and magical arts on Richard Goodwyn, the son of Henry Goodwyn of Wilburton, causing him to languish and die. Not guilty of first indictment; guilty of following indictments, to be hanged.
- 2r. Joan Akers, alias Worlriche, of Haddenham, spinster, is indicted that on 19 June 1603 she feloniously took and carried away a bolster to the value of four pence, a pillow to the value of three pence and a covering to the value of three pence from John Kyrke at Haddenham. Guilty; to be whipped.
- 2r. John Smyth of Witcham, labourer, is indicted that on 13 Sept. 1602 he feloniously took and carried away two cheeses worth three pence from William Bayly. Confessed; to be whipped.
- 2r. Edward Blande of Ely, labourer, Mary Hutton of Ely, spinster, Henry Spence of Ely, labourer, Stephen Chapman of Ely, labourer, Roger Cripps, [place of abode and occupation not stated], Peter Webb of Wilburton, labourer, John Jon, [place of abode and occupation not stated], Alice Lambert of Haddenham, spinster, Thomas Gledall of Sutton, labourer, Robert Lee of Stretham, labourer, Thomas Cox of Wisbech, tailor, Richard Fraser of Tydd St Giles, labourer, Lewis [Ludovic] Walls of Wisbech, labourer, Richard Richardson, [place of abode and occupation not stated], Arthur Rowell, [place of abode not stated], labourer, Robert Fyshe of March, baker, George Cooke of Wisbech, miller, John Tomplyn of Middleton, Warwickshire, yeoman, Thomas Day of Haddenham, labourer, William Richards of Whittlesey, labourer, Ralph Freeman of Whittlesey, labourer, Thomas Croxon of Whittlesey, labourer, Thomas Mobb of Wisbech, labourer, and Robert Plumber of Wisbech, labourer, are freed and acquitted.

- 3r. Michael Alexander of West Walton, Norfolk, gentleman, is bound to answer John Proctor, gentleman, in an action of debt. Thomas Joyne of Wisbech, beer brewer, acts as surety.
- 3r. John Bosworth of Newton, yeoman, is bound to answer Roger Coe, gentleman, in an action of trespass on the case. Robert Holmes of Newton, butcher, acts as surety.

Robert Harris of Haddenham, labourer, William Chester of Haddenham, labourer, John Stooks of Haddenham, labourer, and Henry Colson of Haddenham, shepherd, answered Richard Akenstall esquire in an action of trespass that on 10 May 1603 they entered Akenstall’s close at Grunty Fen and carried away ten thousand turfs to the value of 40 shillings. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.

William Jenyngs of Haddenham, labourer, and Lawrence Watson of Haddenham, labourer, answered Richard Arkenstall esquire in an action of trespass that on 6 May 1603 they entered Akenstall’s close at Grunty Fen and carried away 20 thousand turfs to the value of 40 shillings. - 3v. Robert Mitchell of Ely, weaver, answered Robert Ayer in an action of trespass that on 5 June 1602 he drove a horse worth eight pounds from Ayer at Ely and killed the horse with a hatchet. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.

- 5v. John Crynger of Thetford, labourer, and Mary, his wife, are summoned to answer Robert Pramice, gentleman, in an action of theft that on 4 Nov. 1602 Mary took two horses and a bay gelding from Pramice from Great New Close at Thetford. Damages to be assessed.
- 5v. William Savidge of Haddenham, yeoman, is summoned to answer Henry Vernon esquire in an action of debt of 24 pounds according to a bond of obligation of 26 May 1602 at Ely. To pay damages.
- 5v. Percival Smyth of Haddenham, blacksmith, answered Robert Hunt in an action of assault that on 10 Dec. 1602 he assaulted Hunt with a hedge stake causing him to lose sight in his right eye. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 6r. Lawrence Barnes of Haddenham, bricklayer, and Richard Page of Haddenham, tailor, answered John Kyrke in an action of trespass, together with John Barnes, bricklayer, and Thomas Hatfield, labourer, of Haddenham, that their livestock trampled and overgrazed the wheat and grain growing in Kyrkes close at Haddenham between 1 July and 1 September 1601, and that on 30 Aug. 1602 they took away five cart-loads of barley to the value of ten pounds. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 6r. Lawrence Raginent of Ely, butcher, is summoned to answer Thomas Okeley, gentleman, in an action of debt of 62 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 8 Oct. 1602 at Ely. To pay damages.
- 6r. Thomas Crosse of Wisbech, gentleman, and Roger Godfost and William Seman of Wisbech, labourers, answered William Styrmyn esquire in an action of trespass that on 27 Sept. 1602, with Richard Tylney of Wisbech, gentleman, they took beans to the value of ten pounds from Styrmyn’s close at Wisbech.
- 6v. John Foster senior of Sutton, yeoman, and Edward Foster of Sutton St James, Lincolnshire, yeoman, executors of the will of Henry Foster deceased, are summoned to answer William Gunton, executor of the will of Edward Gunton senior, in an action of debt of 20 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 18 Mar. 1576 at Sutton. To proceed to the next session.
- 6v. John Crayne, [place of abode and occupation not stated], answered William Styrmyn in an action of theft that on 22 May 1603 at a place consisting of 11 acres of pasture lying in Munsford Field in Wisbech he took a number of fillies worth 40 pounds.
