- 1v. Robert Sole of Ely, labourer, William Duglas of Ely, labourer, and Richard Brytten of Ely, labourer, are indicted that on 10 Feb. 1587 he feloniously took and carried away eight hens worth ten pence from John Sheparde at Ely. Not guilty.
- 1v. John More of Ely, labourer, is indicted that on 4 Feb. 1587 he feloniously took and carried away ten shillings in numbered money from Richard [?Lowe] at Littleport. Not guilty.
- 1v. William Stowles of Wisbech Murrow, fisherman, is indicted that on 1 Dec. 1586 he feloniously took and carried away a [Padgett] net worth six pence from John Hopkynson at Wisbech. Not guilty.
- 1v. Alan Fox of Wisbech, labourer, is indicted that on 20 Nov. 1586 he feloniously took and carried away a tunic, called a black fryse coat, to the value of ten pence and a black cloth doublet to the value of six pence from Lawrence Abraham at Wisbech. Not guilty.

Thomas Orinall of Ely, labourer, is indicted that on 18 Feb. 1587 he broke and entered the storehouse of John Jackson, and feloniously stole, took and carried away a bag worth two pence and two measures of barley to the value of two shillings, and a coverlet to the value of ten pence. Not guilty.
- 1v. William Burbushe of Haddenham, weaver, is indicted that on 23 Feb. 1587 he feloniously took and drove a white wether worth 12 pence from John Rose at Haddenham. Not guilty.
- 2r. William Tompson of Sutton, labourer, is indicted that on 27 Feb. 1587 he feloniously stole, took and drove four ducks from a person unknown at Sutton. Not guilty.
- 2r. Edward Sutton of Witcham, labourer, is indicted that on 2 Oct. [1587] he feloniously took and drove a hog worth three shillings from John Christian at Witcham. Not guilty.
- 2r. William Fabie of Ely, labourer, is indicted that on 20 Dec. 1586 he feloniously took and carried away a coulter worth four pence, a plough share worth three pence and a rapier worth four pence from Joan Holland at Ely. Not guilty.
- 2r. Robert Edmond of Doddington, labourer, is indicted that on 20 Feb. 1587 he broke and entered the storehouse of John Cox, esquire, at Doddington and feloniously took and carried away a half-bushel of barley worth ten pence. Not guilty.
- 2r. Henry Salmon of Sutton, labourer, is indicted that on 27 Feb. 1587 he feloniously stole, took and drove three ducks worth ten pence from a person unknown at Sutton. No verdict is stated.
- 2v. Robert Towle of Wisbech, labourer, is indicted that on 27 May 1586 he feloniously took and led away a grey horse worth 30 shillings from Robert Apleby, on the same day a white gelding worth 30 shillings from Thomas Backhowse and on the same day a dappled grey gelding worth 40 shillings from Nicholas Browne, all at Wisbech. Guilty; to be hanged.
- 2v. John Bennett of Waterbeach, labourer, is indicted that on 8 Oct. 1586 he feloniously stole, took and drove two calves worth 20 shillings from Thomas Apleby at Ely. Guilty; allowed benefit of clergy.
- 2v. Luke Hodson of Haddenham, labourer, is indicted that on 18 Oct. [1587] he feloniously took and drove 30 wethers worth 40 pounds from John Barnard at Haddenham. Guilty; allowed benefit of clergy.
- 2v. William Pynchbeck of Wisbech, labourer, is indicted that on 6 Apr. 1587 he feloniously took and carried away a pair of linen sheets worth three shillings, two coverlets worth three shillings and a pillow worth six pence from Thomas Fayerman at Wisbech. Guilty; allowed benefit of clergy.

- 6r. Richard Browne of Stowbridge, Norfolk, waterman, answered William Lamkyn in a plea of non-payment of six pounds, 30 shillings and four pence relating to a bond of obligation of 11 Nov. 1578 at Wisbech. To proceed to jury trial.
- 6v. Robert Russell of Walpole, Norfolk, husbandman, answered Nicholas Watson in a plea of non-payment of 40 shillings which Russell borrowed from Watson on 31 May 1582 at Wisbech. To proceed to trial jury.
- 6v. Robert White of Whittlesey, labourer, answered John Page in a plea of trespass that on [day and month not stated] 1586 he took and impounded two pigs worth 40 shillings from Page at Whittlesey at a place called King’s Delph. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 6v. Thomas Mone of Wisbech, butcher, answered Henry Anslowe in a plea of trespass on the case and breach of promise relating to the sale of 216 pounds of hops on 14 Feb. 1584 at Newton, to be paid at Stourbridge Fair day. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 7r. Simon Marten of Whittlesey, labourer, answered John [Grounde] in a plea of trespass on the case that on 8 Dec. 1586 at Whittlesey he did publicly slander and accuse Grounde of stealing his corn. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 7r. John Mason of Walsoken, Norfolk, yeoman, answered Thomas Shapney in a plea of trespass and assault that on 1 May 1583 at Wisbech he assaulted Shapney with force putting him in fear of his life. Guilty; to pay damages and costs.
- 7v. William Palmer of Hilgay, Norfolk, yeoman, answered William Holecroft in a plea of trespass on the case relating to the sale of a horse on 1 Sept. 1586 at Ely to be paid by Palmer by the last day of Stourbridge Fair. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.
- 7v. Nicholas Hearne of Ely, labourer, and Nicholas Trickett of Ely, labourer, answered John Crickmay, gentleman, in a plea of trespass that on 1 Apr. 1587 they broke and entered the close and house of Crickmay in Ely, called a turf house and St John’s House, and took and carried away turf to the value of 100 shillings. To proceed to jury trial.
- 8r. Luke Thorne of Witchford, husbandman, answered William Marche, gentleman, in a plea of trespass and ejection that on 20 Sept. 1586 he forcibly ejected him from a holding with a close and adjacent croft lying in Wisbech which Thomas Marche, gentleman, had leased to William Marche for a term which had not yet expired. [William Marche awarded damages].
- 8r. William Dove of Downham, yeoman, answered Nicholas Bugge in a plea of non-payment relating to a black horse worth five pounds, 20 Nov. 1584 at Coveney. To proceed to jury trial.

- 10v. [43] Anne Corbett of Ely, spinster, is indicted that on 10 Aug. 1587 she feloniously broke and entered the dwelling house of Hugh Bradshawe at Wisbech, between the hours of 10 and 12 at night, and burgled him, putting him in fear of his life. She feloniously took and carried away two pairs of sheets to the value of 40 shillings, a tablecloth to the value of ten shillings, 12 table napkins to the value of 12 shillings and two shirts to the value of two shillings. Not guilty.
- 10v. [44] Henry Spencer of Wisbech, labourer, is indicted that on 22 Aug. 1587 he feloniously took and led away a grey horse worth six pounds from Arthur Howsden at Wisbech. Guilty; to be hanged.
- 10v. [45] Thomas Maultbye of Wisbech, labourer, Richard Farlye of Wisbech, weaver, and Edward Wright of Wisbech, weaver, are indicted that on 20 July 1587 they feloniously stole, took and drove a black heifer with white markings worth 30 shillings and four pence from Nicholas Emneth at March. On the same day, they feloniously stole, tool and drove nine heifers, called bullocks, worth 30 shillings and four pence from [Justin] Gessopp. Guilty; allowed benefit of clergy.
- 11r. [46] Gregory Raven of March, labourer, is indicted that on 2 Sept. 1587 he feloniously took and carried away a doublet worth 12 pence, a pair of hose worth two shillings and other shoes or hosiery worth two shillings from Robert Whyte at March. Guilty; allowed benefit of clergy.
- 11r. [47] Isabelle Leyton of Ely, spinster, is indicted that on 1 Aug. 1587 she feloniously took and carried away a gown worth 26 shillings and eight pence from Thomas Grainge at Ely. Guilty; pleaded pregnancy and remitted to prison at Ely Barton.
- 11r. [48] Catherine Henchtebrigg of Wisbech Murrow, spinster, is indicted that on 24 Sept. 1587 she feloniously stole, took and carried away a woman’s petticoat worth five shillings, a woman’s neckerchief worth ten pence, a woman’s kercher worth 12 pence and nine shillings and 11 pence in numbered money from Richard Smarthfote at Wisbech. Guilty; pleaded pregnancy and remitted to prison at Ely Barton.
- 11r. [49] John Browne of [King’s] Lynn, Norfolk, labourer, Ralph Middleton of [King’s] Lynn, Norfolk, labourer, and Lancelot Tate of [King’s] Lynn, Norfolk, labourer, are indicted that on 3 Aug. 1587 John Browne feloniously took and carried away three sticks of eels worth ten pence and that Ralph Middleton and Lancelot Tate knowingly sheltered and gave comfort to Browne after the crime. Browne and Tate guilty; Middleton not guilty.
- 11v. [50] Henry Glyden of Sutton, yeoman, answered Thomas Blacke, gentleman, in a plea of trespass on the case relating to the sale and supply of a quantity of frieze [coarse woollen cloth], 7 Sept. 1587 at Ely. The entry is incomplete, no outcome stated.
- 13r. [51] William Gooday of Haddenham, yeoman, answered Cuthbert Browne of Haddenham, yeoman, in a plea of trespass that on 4 July 1587 he broke and entered the close of Browne called North and Nether Delph at Hill Row in the parish of Haddenham, and cut down and carried away grass growing there to the value of 40 shillings. Gooday is fined and arrested.

[52] Lewis Hoggeson of Haddenham, labourer, answered Edward Browne in a plea of trespass that on 25 July 1587 he broke and entered the close of Browne lying in a marsh called Gaule [Gall] Fen in Haddenham, and cut down and carried away grass growing there to the value of four pounds. Pled not guilty; to proceed to jury trial.

[53] John Barnard of Haddenham, husbandman, and Elizabeth, his wife, answered Edward Browne in a plea of trespass that on 25 July 1587 they broke and entered the close of Browne at Haddenham, comprising two acres of marsh lying in a marsh called Gall Fen, and they cut down and carried away grass growing there to the value of 40 shillings.
- 13v. [54] Richard Nytingale of Haddenham, husbandman, answered John Munsey in a plea of trespass that on 25 July 1587 he took and carried away ten cartloads of hay to the value of 40 shillings from Munsey at Haddenham. Guilty; arrested and to pay damages.
- 13v. [55] William Wilkes of Wisbech, gentleman, answered Robert Sadler in a plea of trespass on the case relating to the sale of a gelding worth six pounds and another gelding worth 40 shillings. To proceed to jury trial.
- 14r. [56] William Catlyn of Whittlesey, husbandman, answered Ralph Grey in a plea of trespass on the case relating to the sale of five sheep worth 40 shillings, 28 Dec. 1584 at Whittlesey. To proceed to jury trial.

[57] Giles Lackford of Haddenham, yeoman, answered Agnes March, widow, in a plea of trespass that on 24 Dec. 1586, he broke and entered her close at Haddenham called Whites Yard, comprising half an acre of land, trampled and walked on the grass growing there, and erected a stud wall. Guilty; arrested and to pay damages.

[58] Clement Hynde of Ely, yeoman, answered Nicholas Massy, gentleman, in a plea of trespass that on 31 Aug. 1587 he entered the close of Massy at Ely, consisting of five acres of meadow in a place called Roshill [Roswell Pitts], and took and carried away ten cart-loads of hay to the value of ten pounds. To proceed to jury trial.
- 14v. [59] John Byrde of Wisbech, butcher, answered John Tolbill esquire in a plea of trespass that on 14 Dec. 1586 he broke and entered his free warren at Newton, and took and carried away ten ferrets [or ferret-skins]. To proceed to jury trial.
- 15r. [60] Lambert Marten of Wisbech, butcher, answered William Styrman in a dispute over eight stone of tallow worth 11 pounds, 30 Apr. 1587 at Wisbech. Pled not guilty.
- 15r. [61] Peter Rawe of Littleport, labourer, answered Richard Bestney, gentleman, in a plea of non-payment of five pounds and 15 shillings, 1 Aug. 1587 at Ely. The entry is incomplete.
- 15r. [62] John Harvye of Cambridge, inn holder, answered William Totnam of Witchford, yeoman, in a plea of non-payment of 100 pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 25 Jan. 1586 at Ely. The entry is incomplete.

[63] Dorothy Wylkes of Ely, widow, answered John Thorowgood of Ely in a plea of non-payment of 40 shillings relating to her purchase of two men’s shoes, two pairs of women’s shoes and three pairs of children’s shoes and a sum of money which she borrowed from Thorowgood, 20 Jan. 1586 at Ely. Wylkes is fined.
- 15v. [64] Richard Skott of Witcham, husbandman, answered John Thorowgood of Witcham, yeoman, in a plea of trespass on the case that on 20 Apr. 1587 he did publicly slander and accuse Thorowgood of stealing William Juderell’s corn. To proceed to jury trial.

[65] George Hall of Sutton, Lincolnshire, yeoman, and Joan, his wife, answered Thomas Pierson and John Wright in a plea of trespass on the case relating to the sale of wheat, barley and beans, a quantity of wethers [castrated rams], three ploughs with their furniture, a horse-mill and other goods and chattels in the store house of John Rodgman, deceased, 31 Jan. 1586 at Wisbech. To proceed to jury trial.
- 16r. [66] Richard Mugg of Ely, gentleman, and Richard Fyncham of Ely, gentleman, answered John Appla in a plea of non-payment of seven pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 14 Sept. 1586 at Ely. The bond of obligation is recited. Mugg and Fyncham to pay costs and damages.
- 16v. [67] Andrew Chesewright senior of Sutton, tailor, answered Thomas Spencer in a plea of non-payment of four pounds relating to a bond of obligation of 15 Dec. 1585 at Sutton. The bond of obligation is recited. To proceed to the next session.
