Papers relating to Chaucer, Mostly undated, c.1856-1886
Scope and Contents
Papers of Henry Bradshaw concerning the writings of Geoffrey Chaucer. Use was made of some of these materials by G. W. Prothero in compiling the sections on Bradshaw’s Chaucer work in his Memoir of Henry Bradshaw (1888; see pp. 212–25, 346–59); and some items are referred to (under their previous box numbers) by Richard Beadle, ‘Bradshaw’s Chaucer: some preliminary observations’, TCBS 17 (2019) 555–72. It should be noted that similar body of Bradshaw/Chaucer papers, once co-extensive with those listed here, which also passed through Prothero’s hands, is now in the archives of King’s College, Cambridge (KCA BRA 1/1/1–4).
