Bills, receipts and miscellaneous letters, principally from shopkeepers and tradesmen, 1897
Scope and Contents
The great majority of the following items were generated by a wide range of businesses with whom Bidder dealt as a young man, mostly in Cambridge and London: tailors, hatters, shirt makers, glovers, shoe makers, grocers, wine merchants, tobacconists, booksellers, stationers, furniture dealers, ironmongers, restaurateurs and others. Taken as a group, the bills throw interesting light on Bidder’s lifestyle, tastes and habits.
