Scope and Contents
With alpha-numeric border: Maps.KGM 8.1 = Coloured edition, with hachures ; Maps.KGM 8.2 = Black outline edition, without contours ; Maps.KGM 8.8 = District maps, coloured with hachures and contours ; With alpha-numeric squaring system : Maps.KGM 8.9 = District maps, coloured with hachures and contours ; With graduated alpha-numeric border : Maps.KGM 8.10 = District maps, coloured with layers, hachures, hill shading and contours ; With graduated border and alpha-numeric squaring system : Maps.KGM 8.11 = York District ; Maps.KGM 8.12 = Tourist maps, coloured with layers, hachures and contours ; Maps.KGM 8.13 = Road edition, outline with water in blue, main roads in red, other roads in orange. Most of the maps were stored in large slip-cases made by Guy Messenger made out of cardboard (sometimes recycled corn-flake cereal boxes) and tape or sticky-back plastic (usually black), but only samples of these boxes have been retained.
