Scope and Contents

ff.4000 (approx.); 201 x 164mm; text size varies around 185 x 150mm; usually 10 lines, bound in approx. 96 exercise books each of 50 pp.
Contents: Leviticus - I Chronicles and Jeremiah to Malachi.
A revision by P. Jenkins (CMS) and N.F. K’wang, who prepared a tentative revision of Genesis in 1937 (ABS & BFBS: Shanghai Sp 688). The complete Bible followed in 1959 (BFBS: Hong Kong Sp 689).
P. Jenkins had been engaged in revision of the Cantonese Scriptures since before 1924 when he with different collaborators, has issued a tentative edition of St. Matthew (BFBS: Shanghai, 1925, Sp 685). In 1937-38 he and K’wang were working in Cambridge, and their MS was, with the exception of Genesis, Exodus and Psalms, deposited in London Bible House at the outbreak of the Second World War.
