This MS contains two distinct parts but which were gathered by the author. The first part is a collation of St. John, (f.1 recto:- ‘Collatio Textus Aethiopici in Evangelio sec. Joannem prout in Biblicis Polyglottis extat, cum lectionibus codicis m[anu]s[crip]ti in Bibliotheca Publica Cantabrigiensi Oo.1.41’) from Walton’s Polyglot of 1655-57. The second part is a revision of Abu Rumi’ version by Thomas Pell Platt. The whole Ms is in Platt’s hand and the second part bearing his proposed corrections and remarks was sent in instalments by Platt to Rev. J. Jowet between January 1832 and April 183. Letters from Platt to Jowett are annexed to the MS.
