‘St Mark’s Gospel translated by Nathaniel Pearce at the request of Mr. W. Jowett'.
ff.64; 220 x 134mm; text on full page; 21 lines (variable); quires numbered 1-8 collated 1-8(8); written in roman character with English spellings; unbound.
Translated from the English (Authorised) version by Nathaniel Pearce who also translated St. Mark and St. John into Tigrinya. This MS has a comparative table of terms in English, Tigré [i.e. Tigrinya] and Amharic beginning at ff.56 verso; ff.63 verso + 64 are blank.

This version, despite being requested by William Jowett, was never published, being superseded by Abu Rami’s translation (see BFBS MS 15).
